The EAP programme is designed to help students — English Language Learners (ELLs) — to develop the necessary skills for further studies.  These skills include journal or essay writing, blogging, developing content and proofreading, and are as important to the academic process as knowing and understanding the basic rules of academic writing such as punctuation, sentence structure, paragraph organization, and other writing rules and techniques.
