English Tutoring Kip McGrath provides tuition in English for students between the ages of 5-17, from Kindergarten to Year 12. The curriculum covers all aspects of the language that students are expected to learn at school (where English is the first language). The programme is carefully designed so that each student progresses at his/her own pace. A student can start anywhere within the Kip McGrath programme at the level most suited to his/her current ability and knowledge. All children are given an FREE initial assessment that will identify areas where learning needs to be concentrated. An individual learning programme is then tailored to each child based on the assessment results.
  1. Little Learners
Early Reading: Designed to develop and motivate young readers This important Kip McGrath programme is designed to assist young learners who have been identified early as having reading difficulties. It is also targeted to those who have progressed through the school system but still lack necessary reading capabilities. This is an intensive intervention programme to develop reading skills and guides children through the basics of reading. A FREE assessment is conducted to determine whether Little Learners is appropriate for your child. Depending on the level of improvement, a child can progress from this stage to the Kip Reading Programme. Get Ready for School programme: Starting school on the right foot The transition from pre-school to more formal learning is an important one for children. It can impact on their motivation at school, social skills, and future academic success. Kip’s specialist Get Ready for School programme is a gentle introduction to learning which helps in the smooth transition from pre-school to “big” school. Parents who want to ensure that their child’s first school experience is a positive one will find this programme very useful. Foundation Literacy and Numeracy: Reading, comprehension, and counting Help your child develop a love of learning from the start of their school years — from Kindergarten to Year 1 — and improve their chance of academic success. Little Learners focuses on building the foundations of literacy and numeracy by engaging children in a variety of structured, yet fun learning activities. This will help your child to develop, appreciate, and improve learning in:
  • Basic reading, including alphabet and phonemic awareness
  • Comprehension
  • Counting
  • Addition and subtraction
  • Number recognition
These activities are important for developing critical thinking and visual and auditory memory skills.
